A good photograph keeps a moment from running away - Eudora Welty
My love of photography can be attributed to my late grandfather; he gave me a Kodak 110mm instamatic camera to take on a school trip to France when I was 10 years old and from that moment I was hooked. He was an honorary member of the local camera club and I would often go to meetings with him. I later attended an evening class at college and learnt how to process film and develop black and white prints. I initially owned several film cameras (my first being an Olympus OM10 which I consider to be my springboard into 'proper' photography and still own to this day) before moving solely to digital in 2003. I ran a photoblog and fed off the positive comments I received, I began offering prints for sale and found further encouragement when people bought them. I started my own self employed photography business over 10 years ago and currently supply images to various stock agencies and individuals.
I have undertaken many commissioned product shoots for regular and occasional clients. Product marketing sessions can be done on location at the customer's premises or, if the products are portable, at home in my studio. The products are then isolated (if required) and all Images are supplied on CD in multiple formats; CMYK for printer ready use and JPG for web use. I am also able to attend company events and other commercial functions.
I love to people watch from my local coffee shop, so photographing people is an absolute pleasure. I love capturing candid, natural moments of children and adults alike. I'm a big advocate of utilising natural light (but I'm not adverse to using reflectors and flash if required) and sessions can be arranged at a location of your choice, or a venue recommended by me. Relaxed, informal family sessions (pets welcome!) are available - please enquire via the contact page.
I have been commissioned to take photos of private gardens, buildings and other commodities that do not fall under the commercial or portrait category so please contact me to discuss your requirements.
